The atelier

The Maison

A small workshop.A long horizon.

Argjendari Jon is a studio of seven hands in the centre of Tirana. We make jewelry and curate timepieces for the people who have learned to want less, and to want it better.

Hands at a goldsmithing bench

Origin

Begun in a back room.

The first JON pieces were made on a single workbench inherited from the founder's grandfather — a goldsmith who worked through four decades of a country that changed around him. The bench is still in the atelier. So is the silence he kept while he worked.

Polishing a ring

Craft

Slow on purpose.

Every piece is drawn by hand before it is drawn on a screen. Settings are filed, not cast. Polishing is done with cloth and patience, never with vibration. A ring takes us between two and six weeks. We could go faster. We've chosen not to.

Albanian filigree detail

Place

From Tirana, with intent.

Albania has a long, mostly unwritten history of goldsmithing — filigree from the north, coastal silver from Vlorë, the dowry traditions of the south. We work in that line, gently. Not as revival, but as continuity.

The Maison

What we hold to.

01

Restraint over ornament.

If a detail can be removed without loss, it should be.

02

Materials, not effects.

We use 18k gold, platinum, and stones we can vouch for by name and origin.

03

Time at every step.

Drawn, filed, set, polished, rested, polished again. The shortcut would be visible to anyone who looks.

04

Quiet, always.

Our pieces should compliment the wearer, not announce them.

    Seven hands.

We are a studio of seven, making about four hundred pieces a year. Most are commissioned by name.
